The Apple ‘California Streaming’ event was packed with new announcements ranging from the iPhone 13 series to new iPads and the Apple Watch Series 7. At the event, the company announced the 9th generation Apple iPad, which brings slight improvements over the previous generation. For example, it now runs a better and faster Apple A13 Bionic chipset, comes with more storage space and more.
The new Apple iPad is available in both Wi-Fi and cellular variants and the price starts at Rs 30,900 for the 64GB Wi-Fi version and Rs 44,900 for the 256GB Wi-Fi version. At the same time, the cellular version costs Rs 42,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively.
Coming to the changes from the previous generation, the new iPad is now powered by the Apple A13 Bionic chipset, the same SoC that powers the Apple iPhone 11 series.

Another difference is in the case of the camera. The 9th generation iPad now comes with a 12MP ultra-wide front camera sensor while the 8th generation model had 1.2MP. The new front camera also supports the Center Stage feature that we have seen on other Apple devices.
Lastly, the display of the new iPad is now a True Tone display which helps to boost the overall viewing experience for the users.
Everything else remains almost the same as the 8th generation. For your better understanding, we have also created a spec-by-spec comparison table. Just have a look.
