Apple finally started the much awaited iOS 15 Update for iPhone. Unveiled at the 2021 World Wide Developers Conference, iOS 15 brings several updates and new features to the iPhones. Although the new operating system is available for the old iPhone Models too, some features of iOS 15 are limited to the models launched by the company in the last two years.

Live text is a feature that recognizes information using the camera and saved images. It allows users to send an email, make a call, and even see directions on a map by simply accessing the text in the camera frame or any image saved in the gallery. This feature also gives users the ability to translate text from images to other languages. Currently, Live Text works in seven languages - English, Chinese, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Spanish. Using the Live Text feature to copy text from images
To copy text from any image, you’ll need to select an image from the Photos app or on a browser. After selecting an image, all you have to do is tap and hold the text you want to copy. Once you tap on the text you will be able to see a grab point to adjust your selection. After making your selection you will be able to see the copy option. You can tap the indicator icon in the lower-right corner of the image to highlight all the text in an image.
Use the Live Text feature to send an email or make a call
Live text has the ability to recognize phone numbers and email addresses. If you want to use a phone number in any image in the Photos app or online, you can just tap on the phone number and the Live Text feature will show you the option to call, message, FaceTime or copy that number . When you tap on an email address in an image, the new feature shows you the option to send mail.
Using the Live Text feature to translate text
Once you have selected text in any image, you will be able to see translation options next to the look up. After tapping on Translate, you will see an option to select the language in which you want to translate the text. You can also copy translated text to use in another application.
