Bollywood star Anushka Sharma has announced that she is stepping away from her production house Clean Slate Filmz (CSF) to focus on her “first love”. The actress announced this by sharing a long note on her Instagram account.
Clean Slate Filmz is a production and distribution company founded in October 2013 by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma. Based in Mumbai, it has produced acclaimed projects like NH10, Paatal Lok and Bulbul. Sharing the news of her exit from CSF, Anushka wrote, “More on and on @kans26 @officialcsfilms! My best wishes are always with you!” Anushka’s fellow colleague, actress Deepika Padukone, who also owns a production house, liked her post.
In her note, Anushka said, “When I started Clean Slate Filmz with my brother Karnesh Sharma, we were novices at the time of production but we had a fire in our stomachs and wanted to set the entertainment agenda in India. Chaos. Diffuse Content. Today, as I look back on our journey so far, I’m very proud of what we’ve created and the disruption we’ve managed to achieve. Where CSF has set out to be like commercial projects Starting with my vision to change the story, I have to give credit to Karnesh who has excelled in shaping the CSF today.”
She went on to say that after becoming a mother, she has to balance her life “in a completely new fashion like never before.” Anushka welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with her husband Virat Kohli in January 2021.
“Therefore, I have decided that whatever time I have, I will dedicate it to my first love, acting! Hence, I have decided to move away from CSF, with the belief that the most capable person, Karnesh, is that Taking forward the vision with which it was created in the first place,” said Anushka.
“I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for Karnesh and CSF and look forward to being a part of the many clutter-breaking projects that CSF has built. I can’t wait to see how he continues to propel the company forward with a stellar line of projects that he has chosen, nurtured and brought to life. My best wishes to the entire family in CSF. Love you all,” concluded the actress.
