Anupam Kher writes emotional post after ‘Kashmir Files’ line producer Sarhana’s death due to suicide

veteran actor Anupam Kher took to social media on Friday evening to explain why he sometimes shuts down the world. “Please don’t try to fix me. Please understand that like everyone else I get sad sometimes. So sometimes I shut the world off and just let it come back when I feel better !” Kher posted on Instagram.

The actor’s post on grief came a day after he spoke about the shocking and alleged suicide of a young line producer from his upcoming film “The Kashmir Files”. Kher had shared the news of Praise’s suicide on Thursday. The actor got the news from his mother, who says that Sarhana was battling depression.

“This is #Sarhna. She was the line producer of #KashmirFiles when I was shooting for the film in Dehradun and Mussoorie. The unit celebrated her birthday on the location on December 22 last year. After the shoot she went to her hometown in Aligarh Due to the lockdown. She was bright, talented, helpful and excellent in her work. She texted me to wish her mother on her mother’s birthday from her side. I called her and talked to her and mother’s blessings gave.

She looked absolutely fine. And today I got a message (4th pic) from his phone which really shook me and made me very sad. Spoke to his shattered mother. This depression is really affecting the younger generation quite a bit. I pray for his soul and hope that his mother and brother #Space can deal with this loss. this is so sad!! #OmShanti @the_soulflower #MentalHealthMatters,” Kher posted late Thursday.

He also posted a picture of the deceased, a video of his birthday celebrations on the sets of the film and a screenshot of a text message that read: “Sarhana passed away on June 30. She hanged herself.”
