Actor Anupam Kher was honored with the exceptional performance award for his role in The Kashmir Files at the News18 Shosha Reel Awards on Saturday night. While the actor gave an emotional speech at the award show, he took to Twitter and announced that he is dedicating the award to the victims of terrorism.

Many Twitter users congratulated Anupam. “I really appreciate your work on Kashmir files, sir. We love you so much,” a Twitter user told the actor. “Sir, the performance was truly exceptional. Congratulations A third user wrote, “Many many congratulations sir.”
‘The Kashmir Files’ chronicles the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the early 1990s. Released on March 11 last year, the film did record-breaking business at the box office. The film starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi. Anupam played the role of Pushkar Nath Pandit, one of the victims of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. While the performances were praised by the audience, the film also emerged as a huge hit.
Along with the actor, the film was also recognized internationally. The film was among the 301 films being considered for nominations for the 2023 Oscars.
