Anu Fati agreed to a new six-year Barcelona contract

Soon after a 1-0 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League, the club announced on Wednesday that Anu Fati has extended his contract with Barcelona until 2027.

Fati, who recently returned after nearly a year with a knee injury, will have a release clause in his new deal worth one billion euros.

“FC Barcelona and player Anu Fati have reached an agreement to renew their contract until 30 June 2027. The buy-out clause is set at 1 billion euros,” a club statement said.

The club’s statement described Fati as “one of football’s most popular assets at present” and “one of the team’s players with the brightest future”.

After losing Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, the 18-year-old has taken off Argentina’s coveted number 10 shirt at Barca and his return from injury has lifted the mood in recent weeks.

He returned last month with a goal against Levante and scored his second goal of the season against Valencia on Sunday.
