Kashmir: Anti terrorist operation has been launched on the basis of intelligence inputs by joint team of security forces at Kujar area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said.
The operation was launched soon after the forces received intelligence inputs about presence of terrorists. As the joint team of army, police and paramilitary forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police said that two forces personnel sustained injuries during the initial exchange of firing between terrorists and security forces. Sources said at least two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
Forces have cordoned off the whole area and sealed all entry and exit points to ensure that terrorists didn’t escape from the area. Operation is still underway.
