Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe will hit the theaters on November 4 on the occasion of Diwali. The superstar will play the role of a village leader who is devoted to his sister and fellow villagers. The much-awaited film is being directed by ace director Siruthai Siva, who has made films like Vedalam, Veeram and Viswasam. The makers released the trailer of Annaatthe on October 27, with an overwhelming response. Jagapathi Babu, Khushboo and Prakash Raj will be seen in important roles.
The much-awaited release unites actresses Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushboo which creates a high point for the eager audience.
Nayantara
The female superstar shared screen space with Rajinikanth in Chandramukhi, Kuselan and the recently released Darbar. In Annaatthe, Nayanthara plays the romantic role of a superstar. Both have been praised by cine lovers for their on-screen chemistry.
Meena
Actress Meena has previously worked with Rajinikanth in Ambulla Rajinikanth, Ejaaman, Muthu and Veera. She plays Rajinikanth’s cousin in the upcoming film, who tries to win over him. This August, Ambulla Rajinikanth completed 36 years of release and Meena shared a special post on social media to mark the occasion.
Meena, who recently completed 40 years in the industry, revealed in an interview that Rajinikanth once expressed his disappointment to her. She said, “One day Rajinikanth sir came up to me and said, ‘Meena, I am disappointed with you. I was shocked and many others were also looking at us. Then he said that we have all changed, but you look the same’. Like I saw you in Veera.
Khushbu
The actress-politician has worked with Rajinikanth in the past for films such as Annamalai, Mannan, Natukoru Nallavan, Pandian and Dharmathin Thalaivan. Khushboo, who tasted stardom early in her career, has completed four glorious decades in the film industry. Like Meena in the film, Khushboo also wants to marry Rajinikanth and for this women will be seen fighting among themselves.
On working with Rajinikanth after 28 years, Khushboo said, “People will get to see the Rajinikanth they always wanted to see. Meena and I have to play lovely roles in this. There are many theories on social media as to what this would be. But it will be a pleasant surprise.”
Meena and Khushboo’s last collaboration was the 1994 blockbuster Nattamai.
Keerthy Suresh
According to director Shiva, the film revolves around him. It is known that Rajinikanth plays the role of an elder brother in the film. The plot traces the brother-sister bond between him and Keerti. It was a dream come true for the National Award winning actress. She said, “I shot with him for a few days before the lockdown and was starstruck throughout the shoot. I am sure it will remain so till I complete the film. Annaatthe is going to be special.”
After four decades of working with his mother Maneka, the superstar will be seen working with Kirti in the film. Netrikan directed by SP Muthuram was released in 1981.
