New Delhi: A special PMLA court on ex-remand on Saturday Maharashtra home Minister Anil Deshmukh 14 days . till judicial custody in relation to the matter of money laundering.
The court has dismissed the Enforcement Directorate’s plea for further custody of Deshmukh. The ED had sought nine days’ custody of the former minister in the said case.

Meanwhile, Deshmukh’s son Hrishikesh moved the sessions court on Saturday and filed a petition for anticipatory bail.
ED had issued summons to Rishikesh for questioning in the money laundering case. Officials said the ED had asked Hrishikesh to appear on Friday, but he did not do so.
Anil Deshmukh, arrested in the aforesaid money laundering case, was taken for medical examination from the ED office before being produced before the special PMLA court in Mumbai on Saturday.
The ED arrested Anil Deshmukh on Monday night after 12 hours of questioning in connection with the extortion and money laundering charges leveled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Singh had alleged that Anil Deshmukh was involved in several wrongdoings, including asking sacked Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants in Mumbai. (ANI)
Money laundering case surfaced against Deshmukh and others CBI He was booked in a corruption case related to allegations of bribery of at least Rs 100 crore made by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Further, the ED had initiated probe against Deshmukh and his associates after the CBI filed FIR against NCP leader on April 21 on charges of corruption and abuse of official position.
The ED’s case is that Deshmukh abused his official position while serving as Home Minister and collected Rs 4.70 crore from various bars and restaurants in Mumbai through sacked constable Sachin Vaze.
Apart from Deshmukh, the ED has also arrested two of his associates Kundan Shinde and Sanjeev Palande in this case. Both are currently in judicial custody.
