He also said that his father was deeply saddened to see Anil accept the BJP membership at their headquarters in New Delhi. Ajit said, “Pappa (AKA Antony) was seen sitting in a corner of the house in extreme pain. I have never seen him so weak in my life. He didn’t shed tears, that’s all.”
He said that his brother must have had his own reasons for joining the BJP and added that he used to get several abusive calls from unknown Congress party workers, which could have hurt him. Terming Anil’s decision to join the BJP as “very impulsive”, Ajit said he was sure he would come back to the Congress party after correcting his mistakes. Responding to a question, Ajit said he can continue in the BJP if he feels it is good for his political future.
“He might have gone because he thought it would be good for him. But, I will say again and again that they (BJP) will throw him out like curry leaves,” he said. Citing examples of leaders like Alphons Kannanthanam and Tom Vadakkan, who had joined the BJP a few years ago, Ajith said the BJP would use all of them as temporary workers and throw them out like used curry leaves.
