Andhra Pradesh CM seeks help from External Affairs Minister to bring back workers from Bahrain

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday requested the Center to help bring back several workers from the state, who were being ‘mistreated’ by their employers in Bahrain. In a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, the chief minister said many Indian workers were being mistreated by their employers and had sought help to return to their home towns.

Jagan said, “Among the affected workers, a large number of workers belong to the AP state.” He said that the state government would extend all possible assistance to the Center to bring back the affected workers from Bahrain. He wanted the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs to coordinate with the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi or the CMO in Amravati for any assistance.
