Anand Mahindra Urges Nitin Gadkari For VR Simulator Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway & Other Scenic Highways

Indian roads were infamous for their appalling conditions. No matter how comfortable or capable a car’s suspension is, the roads take their toll on ride quality. Well, it is now a thing of the past. Indian road infrastructure is getting better with each passing day. Not only this, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is setting new records of asphalt laying on everyday basis. Highly impressed with the work, industrialist and chairman of Mahindra Group – Anand Mahindra, took to Twitter to praise Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the impressive work done to develop the highways.

Anand Mahindra tweeted, “Amazing. To say it ignites the wanderlust would be an understatement. @nitin_gadkari ji, why don’t you make some VR simulator programs for the #DelhiMumbaiExpressway and other beautiful highways you are building? I Am sure many would love to enjoy the simulated experience of driving on these roads even before getting a chance to actually drive on these roads.(Of course, I would prefer if the simulation was done through the windshield of a Mahindra SUV) .

The tweet came in response to Nitin Gadkari’s tweet, where the minister shared pictures of the newly opened 240+ km long section of the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway passing through Madhya Pradesh. He tweeted, “Great pictures from the 240+ km long Madhya Pradesh section of the #DelhiMumbaiExpressway!”

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Talking about the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway, it is one of the spectacular pieces of road network in India. At 1,386 km in length, it is undoubtedly the longest expressway in the country. In all likelihood, it will be fully operational by this year. In addition, the expressway reduces the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to just three hours. Developed at a total cost of Rs 98,000 crore, it passes through six states Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. This project will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to just 12 hours.
