IIM Ahmedabad: After securing admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A) in Ahmedabad in his tenth attempt, a man from Odisha’s patience and persistence finally paid off. A 33-year-old man named Dwibesh Nath attempted the Common Admission Test (CAT) four times in an attempt to get into a prestigious business school, but failed. Meanwhile, Nath accepted the job after getting a campus selection from a reputed firm, he told The Times of India. “I always wanted to pursue an MBA from a prestigious college, but I didn’t have the best educational foundation. Since I studied in an Oriya-medium school, my English was weak. I got feedback about my accent. For me , it was discouraging and disappointing,” he added.

After completing his engineering bachelor’s degree, Nath was hired for his first job. After starting the job, he remained dedicated towards his goal and after nine unsuccessful attempts, managed to get into IIM-A. After realizing that he would not get admission in any reputed MBA college with CAT, Nath opted to take the tough route and register for GMAT. “Even though I passed the test, I was on the waiting list. No matter how hard it was for me, I decided to keep going. My seventh attempt at the GMAT resulted in another success, but in the meantime, the waiting list According to Nath, the approval was granted and I was admitted to IIMA.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Nath spent more than a decade working for Maruti Suzuki before moving to his most recent position, which was with Toyota Kirloskar Motor. He also helped form a Jharkhand based NGO. “Even though I have been at IIM-A for only two months, I have already experienced several situations that have made me realize how valuable the institute is.
