Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister’s wife Amruta Fadnavis’ name figured in the latest editorial of Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ as the Uddhav Thackeray faction claimed that “money and bribery have become the word” in the state.

“Maharashtra has got the image of giving and taking bribes. Now the question arises whether this state will remain the state of saints in future? The Maharashtra government (led by Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis) is silent on the Adani controversy. Anything can happen in this state right now. The rule of law has clearly broken down. And if this continues, the image of Maharashtra will be tarnished.”

The editorial also touched on the issue of a “designer” trying to bribe the Deputy Chief Minister’s wife with Rs 1 crore.Amrita Fadnavis, in this case, is not at fault. What they say and do is a matter of personal liberty. But the question is how can a person trying to take a bribe of one crore rupees reach your house. Though Amrita has lodged an FIR in this regard, the matter should be probed thoroughly, as it is serious,” Shiv Sena UBT said.

The editorial further reiterated that the only thing to think about in this matter is how someone tried to bribe people belonging to top state leaders. The Thackeray group concluded, “In other words, the talk in Maharashtra now is that everything can be achieved with money and bribery.”

The bribery case has been in the news since Thursday when it came to light that Devendra Fadnavis’s wife had lodged an FIR against a self-styled designer for allegedly trying to pay a bribe of Rs one crore.

The woman named in the FIR was Aniksha Jaisinghani, daughter of wanted bookie Anil Jaisinghani. While it was said that he is a designer, in a report india today Said to be Aniksha, a law graduate, who posed as a designer to get close to Amrita and seek her help to intervene in a criminal case involving her father.

Her father Anil Jainsinghani, who has several cases registered against him for betting, intimidation, cheating and misleading government officials in Maharashtra, Goa and Assam, is absconding. The woman was reaching out to people to help her father to avoid police action.

Aniksha, a resident of Ulhasnagar in Thane district, had also allegedly offered information about bookies “to help Amrita earn money”. india today Quoting sources, the report said that Aniksha tried to win Amrita’s sympathy by saying that she had lost her mother.

Amrita alleges that the woman once lied to her bodyguard and sat in his car. He allegedly told her that her father had been passing information about bookies to the police. “She (Aniksha) offered that she could either earn money by directing the police to take legal action against the bookies or by not taking any action against them, she could also get money from them,” the FIR said. Amrita said that she stopped the car and asked the woman to get out. She also said that he ignored her calls.
