Amitabh Bachchan sends notice to Pan Masala brand to stop airing ad featuring megastar – Times of India

megastar Amitabh Bachchan, on his 79th birthday on Monday, announced that he has terminated his contract with a pan masala brand, saying he was not aware that it ‘belongs to surrogate advertising’.

Now, we have come to know that the megastar has sent a legal notice to the Pan Masala brand after airing the advertisement even after the contract was terminated.

A source close to the development told ETimes, “It was learned from Mr Bachchan’s office that a legal notice has been sent. Kamala Pasand, to immediately stop airing of TV commercials with Mr Bachchan… as it was observed that despite termination of the endorsement agreement ‘Kamala Pasand’ has ignored it and continues to air TV commercials.”

Earlier, a statement was issued on behalf of Amitabh: “‘Kamla Pasand’… A few days after the advertisement aired, Mr. Bachchan contacted the brand and walked out of it last week. Upon checking that it was Why the sudden move – it was revealed that when Mr. Bachchan was associated with the brand, he was not aware that it came under surrogate advertising.”

The statement from Amitabh’s office further read: “Mr Bachchan has terminated the contract with the brand, has written to them for its termination and has returned the money received for promotion.”
