Amitabh Bachchan-Rhea Chakraborty starrer ‘Chehre’ to release on this date

Mumbai: Anand Pandit’s ‘Chehre’ has been creating a buzz ever since the trailer was unveiled. The suspense thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi was scheduled to hit the silver screens in April 2021; However, it was delayed due to the second wave of COVID-19. The makers have finally announced the new release date of ‘Chehre’.

The much-awaited film directed by Rumi Jaffrey will hit the theaters on August 27, 2021. While many filmmakers have decided to premiere their films on OTT platforms, Anand Pandit has opted for a theatrical release.

Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to share a clip from ‘Chehre’ to announce the release date of the film. He wrote, “Caution you have been warned! Be ready to #FaceTheGame, as the blame may fall on you too. #Chehre releases in cinemas near you on August 27th.”

Anand Pandit also posted the same clip on his official Instagram handle and requested fans to ‘support theatre’. He wrote, “Keeping its promise, it is a proud moment to announce the release date of Chehre, on 27th August in cinemas near you. Times have been tough, there have been delays but as promised, we wanted to bring our film to the theaters because we know how much the cinema community is suffering. It’s time we support them, it’s time we take the risk of a theatrical release, it’s time we urge our audiences to relive the days of entertainment on the silver screen.”

The mystery thriller also stars Rhea Chakraborty, Krystle D’Souza, Drithiman Chakraborty, Raghubir Yadav, Annu Kapoor and Siddhant Kapoor in pivotal roles. Riya’s absence from the promotional posters of the film left many stunned. The actress, who shot to limelight after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, was featured in the trailer of ‘Chehre’, which was unveiled on March 18, 2021.
