Amitabh Bachchan and his staff reduced fees for Jhund: Report

Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Jhund is all set to release on the big screens on March 4. The film stars megastar Vijay Barse as a retired sports teacher from Nagpur, who leads a slum football movement. The film is directed by Fandry Aur Sairat fame Nagraj Manjule and now he is all set to make his Bollywood debut with his latest project.

According to a report, Big B and his staff reduced their fees for the film. Producer Sandeep Singh told Mid-Day, “Mr. Bachchan liked the script. While we were figuring out how to bring him on board, given the (modest) budget of the film, he surprised us by cutting his fees. He said, ‘Instead of spending it on me, let’s spend on the film.’ ,

Singh revealed that even Big B’s staff had reduced their fees for the film.

The trailer of the film has created a lot of buzz before its release. More than 600 children were auditioned to play the role of slum children. Filmmaker Manjule said he knew that working with the 79-year-old screen icon was a once in a lifetime opportunity and hence wanted to make the most of the opportunity.

“I was careful that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Someone whose work you have only seen on screen and now you get a chance to collaborate with was huge. I used to be with him every moment, every Bachchan. The second time working with Sir was precious. “It was tough when I thought about how I would be able to work with him. Before Jhund, I had not worked with just any actor. So I will think what will be the process, how will I guide that. But to his credit, he never really let me feel any pressure or burden.”

Manjule also brings along Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru of Sairat in the herd. Jhund is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath, Manjule, Gargi Kulkarni and Meenu Arora under the banners of T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment and Atpat.
