The home minister will participate in the roadshow near Brahma Dewara temple in Dharwad’s Kundgol area on Saturday (January 28), an official engagement plan mentions.

Shah will also attend a public meeting at MK Hubli Belagavi in ​​Karnataka’s Belgaum district, the plan said, adding that both events would take place on Saturday evening.

Expected to reach Karnataka any time till late evening on Friday, the home minister will begin his day-long tour of Karnataka by attending the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of BV Bhoomraddi College of Engineering and Technology at KLE University of Technology, Hubli city at 10:30 am. The minister will lay the foundation stone of the National Forensic Science University (Karnataka Campus) around noon in Dharwad, a city located in the north-western part of Karnataka. The home minister’s visit to Karnataka comes at a time when assembly elections are due this year, as well as in eight other states, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. These assembly elections are being called semi-finals before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.

Elections in Karnataka are likely to be held in mid-April or early May. Before the assembly elections, the attention of political parties has shifted to the state. One of the other important seats is Mangalore City South Assembly Constituency.
