Raj Niwas officials said on Thursday that the chief minister has been asked to attend the meeting at 4 pm along with his cabinet colleagues and 10 MLAs of his Aam Aadmi Party.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has invited Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his ministers and 10 AAP MLAs for a meeting at Raj Niwas here on Friday evening amid the continuing tussle between the elected government and the Lt Governor’s office.

Raj Niwas officials told on Thursday that the Chief Minister has been asked to attend the meeting at 4 pm along with his cabinet colleagues and 10 MLAs of his Aam Aadmi Party.

The two sides are at loggerheads over several issues, including the Delhi government’s proposal to send its teachers for training to Finland.

On 16 January, Kejriwal and his party’s MLAs marched from the Vidhan Sabha to Raj Niwas to meet Saxena over the teacher training proposal.

The chief minister returned after waiting for nearly an hour, claiming the LG refused to meet him, his deputy Manish Sisodia and AAP MLAs.

Saxena denied the allegation in a letter to Kejriwal a few days later, stating that the chief minister had insisted for a meeting that would be attended by all his MLAs, and that this was not possible at a short notice.

Responding to the LG’s letter, Kejriwal had suggested a fresh proposal for a meeting between the two sides. However, AAP leaders later claimed that Saxena refused to meet the chief minister and AAP MLAs.

However, a scene of camaraderie was witnessed when Kejriwal attended a ‘ghar par’ function ahead of the Republic Day organized by the LG at Raj Niwas on Tuesday.

The two were seen warmly greeting each other during the ceremony, which was also attended by leaders of the BJP and other parties.
