Ambani: Mukesh Ambani backs privacy, cryptocurrency bills – Times of India

Mumbai: Reliance Industries (RIL) President Mukesh Ambani has supported India’s proposed data privacy and cryptocurrency bill, “We are on the verge of introducing a data privacy bill and a cryptocurrency bill. I think we are on the right track,” said Ambani in an interview Infinity ForumHosted by International Financial Services Center Authority, GIFT City and Bloomberg. The RIL chairman’s remarks come as the government plans to mandate minimum investment in digital currencies, while not allowing them as legal tender.
Ambani, who is also the richest man in India, is a big believer in blockchain technology. “I believe in blockchain technology and it is different from cryptocurrency,” he said. “Blockchain is vital to a faith-based equitable society.” Ambani continued: “We are looking at the fourth revolution – that is the digital-first revolution, where digital will be life for billions of people – that will be used in all technology – five or six types of technology will merge together, they Will change the whole world.”
