New Delhi: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with some agriculture experts in the national capital on Thursday and discuss possible solutions to the farmers’ agitation.

“Tomorrow I am going to meet Home Minister Amit Shah and 25-30 people will accompany me,” Singh told the media in Chandigarh.

“I think I can help find a solution as I have been the chief minister of Punjab and also a farmer,” he said.

Stating that he has met the Union Home Minister thrice on farmers’ issues, Singh said something will emerge during the talks as both the Center and farmers want a solution to the crisis arising out of agricultural laws.

Clearly stating that he has not met any farmer leader on the issue, the former Punjab chief minister said that he deliberately did not interfere in the matter as farmers did not want politicians to get involved.

Singh further said that the farmer leaders had four incomplete meetings with the Centre, but back channel talks are going on.

Addressing the media, the former chief minister also said that he is on the verge of starting a political party and added that he will announce its launch as soon as the Election Commission of India approves its name and emblem.
