DC’s skipper had a heartfelt message for KKR’s owner, Shah Rukh Khan as the two had spoken for some time following the DC vs KKR match at Vizag.

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant had a heart-warming message to share for Shah Rukh Khan, following his interaction with SRK. DC faced Kolkata Knight Riders, the franchise that is co-owned by Shah Rukh, on March 3 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

In that match, DC suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the two-time winners by 106 runs. Following the loss, Pant was seen being approached by the superstar who gave him a warm hug on the field. Touched by the gesture, Pant responded by sharing a post on Instagram. “Always good to see you, Bhaiya. So warm as always,” read the post shared by the India wicketkeeper.

Rishabh Pant did not feature in the last IPL season due to a horrifying car accident in December 2022. It was reported that the wicketkeeper batter was travelling from Roorkee to Delhi before he lost control of his car and crashed on the road. Pant made a return to competitive cricket in this season’s IPL.

Playing at the ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, KKR batted first and posted a mammoth total of 272 runs losing seven wickets. Some blistering knocks from Sunil Narine, debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Andre Russell helped the visitors reach the gigantic total.

With a formidable scoreline ahead of them, DC’s David Warner and Prithvi Shaw began the chase. The hosts, however, struggled to assume control of the game while losing four early wickets at a total of 33. KKRs Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora did most of the heavy lifting with each taking two of those four scalps.

Rishabh Pant played a cameo in that game in an attempt to rescue the innings for the DC. He scored 55 in 25 balls while stitching a healthy partnership with Tristan Stubbs. Their performances were just not enough to reach the mammoth total. DC were eventually bowled out for 166.

While Rishabh Pant is finally looking to regain his original form, there is still a lot of catching up that the DC will have to do. DC have already lost three of the four games they have played this season and are set to face the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians next.
