Alt News co-founder Zubair sent to 14-day judicial custody by Lakhimpur Kheri Court – Henry Club

Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court here for allegedly promoting enmity.

Assistant Prosecution Officer Awadhesh Yadav said that Zubair was produced in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Mohammadi through video conferencing.

The prosecution had sought police custody, to which Zubair’s lawyer replied. Yadav said that the court has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

He said the next hearing on his police custody plea has now been fixed for July 13.

The Lakhimpur Kheri police had issued a warrant to Zubair to appear in court in 2021 in connection with the FIR registered for promoting enmity.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) of Kheri district, Mohammadi’s court has issued a warrant against Mohammad Zubair, which was served by Kheri police on Friday, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arun Kumar Singh told PTI on Saturday. . ,

Mohammadi police station in-charge Amber Singh had told PTI that on November 25, a private news channel reporter Ashish Katiyar had filed a case against Zubair.

“In his complaint, Katiyar had accused Zubair of misleading people by tweeting about his channel,” he said.
