Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the fence along the border with neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh will be filled by 2022. Shah made the announcement while addressing the decoration ceremony of the 18th Border Security Force (BSF). Describing the importance of fencing along the borders with neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh from the point of view of security, Shah said, “If the gaps are not completely filled then there is no use of fencing along the border. I want to make sure that That there will be no difference in border fencing by 2022.”

The minister said that all the issues related to the fence project have been resolved and if there is any obstacle in the implementation of the target in future, it will also be resolved.

India has long been erecting fencing along its sensitive border with Pakistan and Bangladesh to seal off sensitive and infiltration-prone patches and a lot of work is being done to secure the borders.

The Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) which includes deployment of smart fences, advanced surveillance gadgets and anti-intrusion alarms has been extended along the borders by the Border Management Division and the Border Security Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). two nations.
