Ali Fazal, Gerard Butler’s Kandahar directed by Rick Roman Waugh
Kandahar will be Ali Fazal’s first international release in 2023 after Death On The Nile released last year.
Ali Fazal’s international project, Kandahar finally gets a release date. The film, which also stars Hollywood sensation Gerard Butler, will release on May 26, 2023. This will be Ali’s first international release in 2023 after Death on the Nile released last year. Ali says, “I am looking forward to it. As I do with all my films. I can promise the action is like never seen before state of the art stuff. Rick Roman breaks his own record The team has worked really hard. It was a great pleasure working with Gerard and since it is releasing worldwide, we are hoping that people all over the world will enjoy it.”
Tom Harris, played by Gerard Butler, is an undercover CIA operative trapped deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. He fights his way, accompanied by his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar, all the while avoiding the elite special forces tasked with hunting him down.
Meanwhile, last week, Ali Fazal attended the Academy Nominees Luncheon in Los Angeles along with The Elephant Whisperers producer Guneet Monga and All That Breathes director Shaunak Sen. While Ali is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Guneet Monga and Shaunak Sen were representing him for their Oscar-nominated documentary The Elephant Whispers and All That Breathes. However, what caught everyone’s attention and came as a sweet surprise was Ali’s unexpected meet and greet with “the real OG” Tom Cruise, who was also present at the luncheon in Beverly Hills.
Based in Kandahar, Ali Fazal will also be seen in Intelligence directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Besides him, the film also stars Tabu, Vamika Gabbi and Ashish Vidyarthi.
