PM Modi emphasized the need for health systems at the district level to be able to meet any challenges posed by the new version. He directed the officials to ensure that the oxygen supply equipments are installed and fully functional in the states.

The PM asked the states to ensure that the eligible population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

There have been demands that the government allow booster doses of the vaccine to people who have already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as many countries have done.
