Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu to recreate Sri Lanka in Mumbai to survive Covid-19 related challenges

Akshay Kumar He is one of the busiest actors in the industry. The actor recently wrapped up shooting for the remake of the hit Tamil psychological thriller Ratsasan (2018), tentatively titled Mission Cinderella, in London. The actor was also seen in Delhi shooting for his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan. It is now learned that Akshay is going to move on to his next project, Ram Setu, for which he has already started work.

Akshay plays an archaeologist in the film which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrat Bharucha. The film was announced on Diwali last year and the shooting started in March this year. The muhurat shot was held in Ayodhya and the producers were later shooting in Mumbai before Akshay and around 45 crew members tested positive for the coronavirus. Shooting was immediately halted and it was pushed indefinitely.

A source reveals that the actor is now shooting for a song and some action sequences in Ooty. “Akshay, along with Jacqueline, is going to shoot for a song sequence. The actress also plays the role of an actor in the film. In fact, Jacqueline has for the fourth time dropped the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case against fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The location of Ooty is a perfect backdrop for the script. The shooting will be completed by Friday before the action begins in Mumbai, where a huge set has been erected.”

Sources reveal that the makers are recreating Sri Lanka in Mumbai. “The production house wanted to shoot on real locations in Sri Lanka, but the country is not fully open yet. There are some quarantine procedures which are making things challenging for the cast and crew. Since the makers already had an encounter where the cast and crew tested positive in April, they don’t want to take a chance again. To avoid any further delay, they have now decided to build a set in Film City similar to the locations in Sri Lanka.”

The source further revealed that the shooting will start only after Diwali. “Once Akshay is back from Ooty, he will be busy promoting Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. He has already revealed his dates for the promotions of the film which is slated to release on November 5, a day after Diwali. After that the actors will resume work on Ram Setu in the city.”
