Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Bell Bottom’ to release in August?

However, with the precarious COVID-19 situation across the country, the reopening of cinema halls remains doubtful. Earlier the film was scheduled to release on July 27, now it will hit the theaters in August. According to a latest report from ETimes, the team at Bell Bottom may be rethinking its theatrical release.

When asked about pushing the release to mid-August, Raj Bansal, a leading distributor and multiplex owner in Rajasthan said, “Given the current situation, I don’t think theaters will be fully open till July 27, so every There is a chance ‘Bell Bottom’ may release on August 13.”

While producer Vashu Bhagnani is yet to comment on the release date, a source close to the unit said, “No decision has been taken on ‘Bell Bottom’ as theaters are yet to open in the country.” By adding this the makers will ensure that it is released at an appropriate time.

The film starring Akshay Kumar is inspired by true events. Set in the 1980s, Bell Bottom was one of the earliest Bollywood films to go on floors last year after the Covid-induced lockdown. Akshay Kumar and the team were among the first few people to move out of India to start shooting for the film last year. The star cast finished shooting for the film during the lockdown. Leaked pictures from the sets during its shoot in Glasgow, Scotland in September went viral on social media and fans were raving about Akshay’s dapper retro look.

The spy thriller also stars Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta and Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the shooting of the film grabbed headlines for its model on-set COVID management and for wrapping it up in record time.
