While most Bollywood A-listers limit themselves to one or two films a year, actor Akshay Kumar is known to deliver several hits every year. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his debut film of 2022, Bachchan Pandey and he already has projects like Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu and OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2 in the pipeline.
Talking about being able to do so many projects every year, Akshay said that he only works on films that are made on deadline and on a controlled budget. Talking to Pinkvilla, the actor said that budget is an important factor in filmmaking and he strongly believes in the phrase ‘Budget hit to film hit’.
“I never waste money and respect everyone’s time. I make it a point to respect the time of my co-actors and crew so that time can honor me back,” Akshay was quoted as saying.
The star actor said that he cannot devote more than 40-45 days for a film and it is a very important criterion for him while signing up for a project. He said that if a film is shot in 40-45 days, it becomes easier to keep the budget under control. “I can’t work in a film that requires more than 100 days of shooting,” he said, claiming that he did not agree with the concept of the method of acting.
Akshay said that he is not someone who locks himself inside a room to prepare for a role and feels that acting should be done as usual.
Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, director Farhad Samji’s Bachchan Pandey features Akshay with a star cast that includes names like Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar and others. The film was originally slated to hit the theaters in January last year, however, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Bachchan Pandey will finally hit the theaters on March 18.
