Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar starrer much-awaited film Samrat Prithviraj is all set to hit the theaters on June 3. Currently, Akshay and Manushi are busy promoting the film. Both, who are in Varanasi, performed the evening aarti on Monday. In his recent interview for the film, Akshay revealed that filmmaker Aditya Chopra has invested two years in VFX to make ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ a visual extravaganza.
In an interview, the Boss actor said, “Rediscovering the legend of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan on the big screen is a huge task for any producer, director or actor like me. With the word go, we were sure that we would tell the story of his life in all its glory as we were honoring the courage and sacrifice of the mighty king who stood up to defend our country against the ruthless invader Mohammed of Ghor was.
Akshay Kumar said, “The elaborate battle sequences were created keeping in mind that the audience should have the biggest and best theatrical experience to watch the life of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan unfold before their eyes. Elaborate sets were created and we shot in majestic locations to add maximum visual appeal. We want this film to be the biggest tribute to the fearless king.”
The Namastey London actor shared that VFX adds magic to the movie watching experience and the makers knew they could enhance the film.
“This team got almost 2 years to work on the footage as a result of the pandemic. So, you can only imagine the scale that has been achieved through VFX. I can’t wait for people to watch the film as it is truly a visual extravaganza to entertain the audience!”, concluded Akshay.
Earlier, the name of Akshay Kumar’s film Prithviraj was changed to Samrat Prithviraj. Yash Raj Films changed the title less than a week before the film’s release. The change in name was prompted after a PIL was filed by Shri Rajput Karni Sena.
Sharing the decision to change the name of the film, the production house said, “As per the many rounds of discussions between us, and to resolve the grievance raised peacefully and amicably, we will change the title of the film to “Samrat Prithviraj”. We very much appreciate the mutual agreement we have that you have no further objections with respect to our film and all other points raised earlier by you are no longer a matter of dispute between us. The portrayal of the great warrior in the film We thank Shri Rajput Karni Sena and its members for understanding our good intentions regarding the release of the film and for your full support locally and globally for the assurances given in your letter “
