Akshay Kumar has taken the responsibility of flop films on himself and shared that he needs to sit back and think why this is happening.
Akshay Kumar could not make much in 2022 at the box office despite an interesting line-up like Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu. Her recent film ‘Selfie’ with Emraan Hashmi was also not in the limelight. Thus, the actor reflected on the string of flops he has delivered in the recent past and shared that it is time for him to sit back and introspect about doing back-to-back films with no definite results.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, the actor explained, “This is not happening to me for the first time. I have given 16 consecutive flops at one point of time in my career. There was a time when I had eight films in a row which didn’t work. Now, I have had three-four films in a row which didn’t work. The point is that it is because of your own fault that the film doesn’t work. The audience has changed, you need to change, you need to outdo yourself. You have to start again because the audience has something else to watch.”
The Selfie actor further blamed himself for his films not working at the box office and said, “It’s a great alarm, aapki film nahi chal rahi toh galti aapki hai (If your films are not working, it’s your fault). your fault). When your films flop continuously, it is an alarm for you that it is time for you to change. I am trying, I can do only that. Don’t blame the audience or anyone else. It’s my fault, 100%. Your film not running is not because of the audience. It’s because of what you choose. You may not have given the right content in the film.”
