Air India ‘pee’ incidentA Delhi court on Saturday denied police custody and sent Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating in the air among co-passengers on an Air India flight, to 14-day judicial custody.

Earlier in the day, the main accused Shankar Mishra was arrested by the Delhi Police from Bengaluru. Mishra had allegedly urinated on the woman on November 26 last year in an inebriated condition.

Significantly, the major development has come to the fore almost two days after the police registered an FIR and formed several teams to nab the accused passenger.

Mishra is the vice president of the India chapter of an American multinational financial services company headquartered in California. The official said that the office of the accused is located in Bengaluru and during preliminary investigation it was found that he was working from home.

Speaking to ANI, Shyam Mishra, father of the accused, refuted the claims and claimed that his son was being “blackmailed”. According to the father, the woman had demanded money and the payment was made.

“She (the victim) had demanded payment and the payment was made. Don’t know what happened next. She must have made some demand which may not have been fulfilled, which upset her. Maybe there was blackmailing, zaroor kuch to hoga,” he said. “
