NEW DELHI: BSP MP SS Yadav on Friday raised the demand for creation of “Ahir regiment” in the Indian Armyarguing that there were many caste-based units in the force already for many years.
Speaking during the zero hour, Yadav said that ‘Ahir’ (yadav) community has shown enormous valor and courage right since the days of freedom struggle and it was because of their violent opposition to the British that the imperial masters did not create an ‘Ahir regiment’.
