Vadodara/ Anand: Anand Agricultural University (AAU) has inked a MoU with the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, for collaboration in the field of education, research and training in the domain of agriculture.
The MOU will pave the way for inter-institutional and multidisciplinary collaborations on conceptualizing, creating and conducting an innovative two years master’s degree program in agriculture analytics,
The agreement aims to design and conduct degrees for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of ​​mutual interest to establish fruitful collaborations.
“We will focus on teaching, conducting research projects, guiding students in research especially in areas like artificial intelligence and machine learning,” said an official.
“The MoU aims to promote jointly organized seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences and meetings to facilitate exchange of faculty and research scholars in relevant teaching and research programs,” he said.
For implementation of the proposed two year master’s degree program in agriculture analytics, DA-IICT and AAU have already constituted joint committees which also have members from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun.
The joint committees will plan, design and finalize the programme.
“The program will be in line with the National Education Policy by facilitating multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional fields like agriculture and analytics,” said AAU vice-chancellor Dr. KB Kathiria,
“In changing times, use of analytics in the agriculture domain is hardly seen. However, in the non-agricultural domain, it is vastly practiced,” he said, stressing that the PG program on agriculture analytics is unique of its kind at national level.
