Agra: ‘Taj Mahotsav’ to begin from March 20 | Agra News – Times of India

AGRA: The annual 10-day cultural extravaganza ‘Taj Mahotsav‘ has been scheduled from March 20. Last year, the event was canceled due to Covid-19 spread.
Though the Taj fest has a fixed schedule from Feb 18-27 in the state calendar of festivals, the program was postponed due to the ongoing assembly elections in the state. This year, the theme of the ten-day cultural festival is ‘Aazadi ke Amrit Mahotsav Ke song, Taj ke rang,
Auditions for the cultural events to be organized during the festival will be held on February 26 and 27 at Sur Sadan auditorium in Agrasaid officials, adding that interested participants can send their applications till February 25.
According to details of entry fee at 31st Taj Mahotsav festival, available on its website, while adults will have to pay Rs 50 per person for entry to the fair, a group of school students in uniform will have to pay Rs 500 for 100 children and entry of 2 teachers will be free with the group. However, there are no entry charges for foreigners and kids below five years of age.
Taj Mahotsav provides an ultimate platform to artists to showcase their craftsmanship. Various performances and cultural evenings are also organized during this festival by artists from varied regions. Many well-known artists and musicians, along with budding artists and unexplored folk talent from various regions have charmed the Taj Mahotsav in previous years.
At the fair, visitors can see shops for unique jewellery, traditional folk dresses, paintings, show pieces, lamps, old and contemporary furniture, linens and much more. The Mahotsav also puts up a wonderful display of scrumptious cuisines from different regions. There is also a fair hosted where kids and adults can both enjoy thrilling rides.
