Agnives can rise to management jobs in private sector, says Naukri.com founder

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of Naukri.com said that security is not just a job, agniveer Can fit into any role in the private sector.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of top job portal Naukri.com, shared his thoughts on the Centre’s Agneepath scheme, saying that four years in the Army will help discipline the youth and after that they can fit into multiple roles in the private sector. Bikhchandani said youth can develop into management roles in sales, service, back office and operations.

“In the private sector I’m not just talking about roles in security – it can be in many roles – sales, service, back office, operations anything. And I’m not just talking blue or gray collar jobs I am. Many can also rise to management jobs,” said Bikhchandani in a series of tweets.

The job boss said that anyone who does four years of national service in the armed forces will end up as a disciplined and trained professional with a college degree.

“They will have a sense of service and commitment, can adapt and adjust in their early to mid-twenties and can fit into any one of many careers – whether in state police forces or central security forces or even That in the private sector too,” he wrote.

Elaborating on the results of the scheme, he highlighted that people retiring from the army in their 40s and 50s have limited options in the private sectors. These professionals are typecast into administrative and security roles. According to Bikhchandani, the reason behind this is that he has already spent more than two decades in the armed forces.

“These youngsters with four years of experience will be trained and disciplined, but not typecast and pigeonholed into narrow roles in the private sectors,” he said. He said that at such a young age, those who have not been hired by the army will still be moldable and many options are open to them.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani also shared examples of other countries that have a similar system, including the United States, where many students, who have served in the military for a few years, are admitted to the best MBA programs.

In the wake of widespread protests in several states, several amendments have been made to the Agneepath scheme, including raising the upper age limit from 21 to 23 years.

The youth who want to make a career in the Indian Army are opposing the Agneepath scheme. Violent protests erupted in several states including Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The protesters torched several trains and ransacked several stations. According to reports, the Indian Railways has suffered property damage worth Rs 700 crore due to the protests.
