According to an official communication, a decision to this effect has been taken by the Central Government and guidelines have been issued for the transfer and posting of IAS, IPS officers of the Combined Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram Union Territory (AGMUT) Cadre-2016 . amended in this regard.
The Jammu and Kashmir cadre was merged into the AGMUT cadre in January 2021 as a result of the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on August 5, 2019.
“Consequent to the merger of Jammu and Kashmir cadre with the AGMUT cadre, the matter has been examined and with the approval of the competent authority, it has been decided that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh shall be classified as Category B.” Can be classified. Accordingly, the Guidelines for Transfer, Posting of IAS, IPS Officers of Combined AGMUT Cadre-2016 have been partially modified and the sections of AGMUT Cadre have been classified into two categories, i.e. Regular and Difficult Sectors.
Postings in Delhi, Chandigarh, Goa, Puducherry, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu will be treated as “Regular Area” or Category A, while postings in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be done. Considered as “hard zone” or category B.
