After Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film ‘The Kashmir Files’, now ‘The Delhi Files’

New Delhi: After the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has announced his next film ‘The Delhi Files’.

The National Award winning filmmaker took to his official Twitter handle to announce the news. He wrote, “I thank all the people who own #TheKashmirFiles. For the last 4 years we have worked very hard with utmost sincerity and honesty. I may have spammed your TL but to people It is important to create awareness about the genocide and the injustice done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film. #The DelhiFiles”

‘The Kashmir Files’ released on March 11 and did exceptionally well at the box office despite criticism about its problematic politics. In fact, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is one of the rare films that continues to do so well at the box office even five weeks after its release.

As per the latest figures shared by the analyst, ‘The Kashmir Files’ has earned Rs 3.52 crore in its Week 5 collection at the box office, taking the total collection to Rs 251.75 crore now.

‘The Kashmir Files’ starred Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and Darshan Kumar in lead roles.

In BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, the film was also exempted from entertainment tax.

Vivek Agnihotri has always been in the limelight for his controversial politicization of socio-political events and presenting a polarized view about them.

His other films include ‘The Tashkent Files’, ‘Chocolate’, ‘Zid’ and ‘Hate Story’.
