After Sisodia Resigns, Delhi Ministers Kailash Gahlot, RK Anand To Take Up His Depts

New Delhi [India]Feb 28 (ANI): Delhi Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday resigned from the cabinet, sources said, adding that the portfolios held by him will be given to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Kailash Gehlot and Raj Kumar Anand. Sisodia had 18 portfolios, some of his portfolios will now be handled by Kailash Gehlot and the rest by Raj Kumar Anand. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain on Tuesday resigned from their posts in the state cabinet. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepted his resignation. His resignation will now be sent to LG VK Saxena of Delhi.

The development comes two days after Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Delhi Excise Policy case. and implementation of the Excise Policy of the Government of Delhi.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to entertain Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s plea challenging his arrest in the excise policy matter. The apex court suggested Sisodia to approach the Delhi High Court.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said the court was not inclined to entertain the plea at this stage and suggested Sisodia to approach the Delhi High Court. “It cannot interfere in the matter as it may open the door for people to approach the apex court in every such case,” remarked the court. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Monday sent him to CBI custody for 5 days.

On the other hand, the CBI has questioned AAP leader Satyendar Jain in Tihar Jail in connection with alleged corruption in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. Directorate (ED).

His name had cropped up in this case along with another Delhi cabinet minister and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Recently, the CBI and ED have made several arrests for alleged corruption in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy.
