Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot, embroiled in a power tussle with CM Gehlot, said on Monday that the paper leak incidents have hurt the aspirations of the youth.

Responding to Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s remark that action should be taken against the “big sharks” behind the paper leaks in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said his government’s action in those cases was aimed at ringleaders.

Pilot, who is involved in a power tussle with Gehlot, said on Monday that the paper leak incidents have hurt the aspirations of the youth. “The government should take action against the big sharks responsible for the paper leak to instill confidence in the youth,” he told farmers and youth at a farmers’ conference at Parbatsar in Nagaur.

Asked about the former deputy chief minister’s remarks, Gehlot said the action taken by his government was against the kingpin in the cases.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government was keen to ensure transparency in the examination and facilitate the candidates appearing for the examination.

Gehlot also denied the opposition’s allegations that his party leaders or government officials were involved in the second grade teacher recruitment paper leak.

Rajasthan is one such state where strict action has been taken against those involved in paper leak cases in the past. Many officers were dismissed from service, bulldozers were taken away (illegal property of accused), law was made against cheating. Such steps were not taken in any other state.

He said, ‘Leaders of opposition parties do not see what happens in MP or UP. Here in Rajasthan, the government has taken strict steps. Here the main accused were arrested and the paper was cancelled, while in other states the exam took place despite the paper being leaked and those involved in the leak took advantage of it.

BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena and Rashtriya Lok Tantrik (RLP) MP Hanuman Beniwal have alleged that the accused in the paper leak cases are linked to senior officials of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Gehlot said that 1.35 lakh government jobs have been given during his tenure, the process of recruitment for 1.25 lakh more posts is going on and one lakh posts will be recruited.

Gehlot alleged, “The opposition does not want the credit for this to go to the Congress.

The paper of Rajasthan 2nd grade teacher recruitment exam was leaked last month, after which the exam was cancelled. Over 50 people, including candidates, were arrested for their alleged involvement.

Nagaur MP Beniwal is protesting in Jaipur against the incidents of paper leak.
