After free electricity, Akhilesh promises laptops to students if party votes in power

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that if his party comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, laptops will be distributed among youth and students in the state. Yadav had promised 300 units of free electricity to households if his party wins the assembly elections.

The SP chief also took strong objection to the BJP media cell posting his picture on social media, which claimed that the perfume trader from Kanpur, who was raided by the Income Tax department recently, had visited Yadav during his visit to France. was present together. Yadav said his party’s legal cell would register an FIR against the in-charge of the BJP IT cell for indulging in “false propaganda”.

“The party has already promised 300 units and free electricity for irrigation. The party takes a pledge to provide best quality laptops to the youth and students when it comes to power. “We distributed lakhs of laptops last time, and recipients are still benefiting from them in moving ahead and arranging their employment,” he said.

The Yogi Adityanath government of the state is also distributing smartphones and tablets to the youth. As elections are near in the state, political parties are making many promises to attract voters.

He said, ‘He has shared my picture of France saying that the Itar (perfume) trader who was arrested in Kanpur is standing with me. The legal cell of SP will definitely register an FIR against him,” Yadav said while also showing the picture at the press conference. “The BJP IT cell in-charge is spreading lies for money by taking support from the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. I will ask my digital team to use his picture and tell people that he is the biggest liar.

In a joint raid by Income Tax and GST Intelligence Wing, Rs 177 crore in cash and gold and silver were recovered from perfume trader Piyush Jain’s house in Kanpur and his house and factory in Kannauj. After this the businessman was arrested. The saffron party had alleged that Jain had links with the SP. However, Akhilesh Yadav has categorically denied this.

Asked whether his party, if voted to power, would do anything for students from poor families who want to study abroad, Yadav said the SP would create a fund for the purpose. He also appealed to the Election Commission that if it decides to hold virtual rallies for the Uttar Pradesh elections, some amount should be given to those political parties which do not have the resources to match the BJP.

Yadav said that he is not in favor of online voting. The SP president said that he would also urge the Election Commission to keep a watch on the hate speeches of BJP leaders.
