After Delhi and UP, Happiness Curriculum will now be a part of Maharashtra Government Schools

After Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, now the Maharashtra government has started a happiness curriculum in government schools for students from class 1 to 8. It will be introduced in all government and aided Marathi medium schools in the coming academic year. The new curriculum aims at holistic development including mental and physical well-being of the students.

Former state education minister Varsha Eknath Gaikwad, who resigned from the post on June 30 following the collapse of the Shiv Sena government, announced the launch of the Happiness course ahead of the signing. Apart from introducing Happiness course, he also introduced 15 percent concession in qualifying marks in Maharashtra TET for defense personnel and families of martyr soldiers.

Taking to the social media platform, Gaikwad wrote, “Happiness curriculum for classes 1 to 8 will be started in all government and aided Marathi medium schools from this year. #Mindfulness #HappinessCurriculum.”

Earlier, during August last year, the Yogi-Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government “Happiness Syllabus” was started in government schools, Known as the Bodh Curriculum, the government initially planned to run Happiness Courses in 15 districts in 10 schools, including Ayodhya.

Initially, the Delhi government had started the Happiness course. “The Happiness Course was first started by the Delhi government in its government school. Member of Happiness Curriculum Committee Ambikesh Tripathi said that the course of Realization Curriculum will be almost like the Happiness Course of Delhi Government.

Earlier this year, The Delhi government had also inaugurated 20 “Aam Aadmi School Clinics”. in the capital’s government schools, which focused on the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students. It also aims to provide counseling services for children.
