Extremely concerned about women, minorities in Afghanistan: Malala
Activist and youngest Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai on Sunday expressed concern over the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and said she was deeply concerned about the situation in the country.
“We watch in complete shock as the Taliban take control of Afghanistan,” Malala wrote on Twitter. “I am deeply concerned about women, minorities and human rights advocates.”
Malala stressed that global, regional and local powers should “call for an immediate ceasefire and provide “immediate humanitarian aid and protection of refugees and civilians” in the war-torn country.
