The confederation also decided to reschedule the qualifying tournament for the 2022 Women’s Asian Cup to be held in India due to COVID-19.
“The AFC Executive Committee recognized the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of all stakeholders, especially young players across the continent, against the backdrop of the ongoing uncertainty and challenges caused by the current pandemic. It was also decided that the same host would stage the next editions of both the competitions in 2024,” the AFC said in an official release.
Additionally, in preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, the AFC Executive Committee also decided to provide more flexibility in finalizing the dates for the qualifiers, which are currently scheduled for September 13 to 25, 2021. Meanwhile, the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022 qualifiers, originally scheduled for October 13 to 24, 2021, has also been rescheduled in a window from April 1 to 15, 2022, with the final competition scheduled for February 16. since 27 September. until 20 October.
