Aimed at showcasing the country’s defense capabilities, AISA’s biggest aerospace exhibition will begin in Bengaluru from Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the five-day exhibition at the Yelahanka Air Force Station complex on the outskirts of the city.

Here’s all you need to know about the show

  1. The 14th edition of Aero India, with the theme ‘The Runway to a Billion Opportunities’, will herald the rise of a strong and self-reliant ‘New India’ by showcasing the country’s growth in aerospace and defense capabilities.
  2. It is being touted as the biggest event ever and is expected to see participation from 98 countries, Defense Ministers of 32 countries, Air Force chiefs of 29 countries and 73 CEOs of global and Indian original equipment manufacturers.
  3. As many as 809 defense companies including medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) and startups will showcase advancements in niche technologies and developments in the aerospace and defense sectors.
  4. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will display a scale model of the Hindustan Lead-in Fighter Trainer (HLFT-42) for the first time. The major attractions of HAL at its indoor pavilion will be models of Indian multi-role helicopters, next-generation HLFT-42 and LCA Mk II, Hindustan Turbo-shaft Engine-1200, RUAV, LCA Trainer and Hindustan-228.
  5. Major exhibitors include Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Israel Aerospace Industry, BrahMos Aerospace, Army Aviation, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Forge Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India Are. Electronics Ltd (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) and BEML Ltd said in a statement.
