An analysis of the affidavits by the ADR revealed that five MLAs have been booked for murder, 29 for attempt to murder and six have declared cases on crimes against women, including rape,
The data shows that 90 out of 255 elected BJP MLAs (35%) have serious criminal cases, followed by 48 out of 111 (43%) of SP, five out of eight from RLD, six of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. Four out of six, four out of six are MLAs. Two out of 12 are from Nishad Party, Apna Dal (Sonelal), two each from Jansatta Dal Loktantrik and Congress, and one from BSP.
