adityanath: Yogi Adityanath takes jibe at Mayawati, Akhilesh over Noida ‘jinx’ | India News – Times of India

Noida: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Visited Gautam Buddh Nagar On Wednesday, the BSP supremo was targeted Mayawati And Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that his predecessors hesitated to come here as they had no agenda for the development and welfare of the people.
Visiting Noida, adjacent to Delhi, in western Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district, was in the past considered a “weird” among leaders of political parties, who believed that visiting the area was an omen for a chief minister.
Mayawati visited Gautam Buddh Nagar and her party lost the 2012 elections, while Yadav did not visit the district during his tenure as chief minister from 2012 to 2017.
However, Adityanath, who became chief minister in 2017 with a strong mandate, has visited the state’s financial capital over the years and used the opportunities to attack his predecessors on superstitions.
On Wednesday, the BJP leader said that he was in Gautam Buddh Nagar to review the preparedness for the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, given the district’s proximity to Delhi and frequent movement of people in the national capital.
“But visiting Gautam Buddh Nagar becomes important for me as well as the chief minister who came before me always hesitated to visit the district,” he told a press conference at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida.
“They were afraid. Their own life and political power were the only things that mattered to them. They had no agenda for the economic prosperity, health and welfare of the people of the state and hence, were hesitant to go to Gautam Buddh Nagar.
“But I have got many opportunities to visit Gautam Buddh Nagar during the pandemic,” Adityanath said.
