A social media post of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary has come under controversy. Adhir wrote with Rajiv’s poster that when a big tree falls, the earth shakes. However, the tweet was immediately deleted after the controversy started.

After the tweet was deleted, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that this is a conspiracy of mischievous elements. I will go to cyber cell and complain. He said that false propaganda is being done against me. After this, Adhir has lodged a complaint at South Avenue Police Station in Delhi. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is currently the leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha and is also the state president of Bengal.

Sharing Adhir’s tweet, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has targeted. Abdullah wrote that if the Congress had done good work, it would not have dragged the feet of others. He further wrote- Are you paying tribute to your leader by writing this?

Rajiv’s alleged statement
After the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984, there were violent incidents against Sikhs in many states including Delhi. After the violence, a statement of Rajiv came, in which he said that people were angry, so they turned to violence. Rajiv further said that when a big tree falls, the earth shakes. However, the Congress kept calling this statement of Rajiv a lie.
