Telugu actress Kriti Shetty, who made her debut with Uppena last year, is gearing up for the release of her next project, The Warrior, directed by N Lingusamy. A purely action film, The Warrior also stars Ram Pothineni, Aadhi Pinisetti, Akshara Gowda and Nadiya. The promotions of the film, which is slated to release on July 14, are in full swing. Kriti has been participating in many of these promotional events for The Warrior, and in one of them she made an interesting revelation.
In a question-and-answer session on a talk show, the host asked him the name of his celebrity crush. Kriti immediately named Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan and said that she too wants to work with him someday. Kriti revealed that she watches Sivakarthikeyan’s films to learn the Tamil language so that she gets a chance to act with him in the future.
Kriti, who became an overnight star heroine with Vaishnav Tej starrer Uppena, directed by Buchi Babu, has taken the first step towards achieving her dream. She has bagged her first Tamil project with Suriya, titled Vanangan. The film will be dubbed in Telugu as Achaludu. The Warrior is also a bilingual, being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.
The Warrior is handled by Srinivas Chitturi under the production banner Srinivas Silver Screen and has music by Devi Sri Prasad, while Sujit Vasudev is the cinematographer. Ram Pothineni will be seen as a police officer for the first time in this film. Since Yen Andral Kadhal Enben, the Tamil adaptation of Andukante… Premantha, failed to find a theatrical distribution, thus becoming The Warrior Pothineni’s Tamil debut.
