Actor Dileep with wife Kavya Madhavan
The Crime Branch of Kerala Police on Friday (April 9) served notice to Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan to appear for questioning on Monday in connection with the 2017 actress assault case. Kavya is the wife of Malayalam actor Dileep who is the eighth accused in the case.
Recently, the crime branch questioned Dileep for two consecutive days. He was accused of conspiring to kill the police officers probing the assault on the actor. Earlier, the Kerala High Court had directed the probe team to complete the investigation of the case by April 15.
Late last year, his former friend and director Balachandrakumar came out openly against him, revealing that Dileep was plotting to eliminate police officers probing the 2017 actress’ kidnapping case, in which he is currently on bail. But is out. However, the actor’s lawyer argued that the prosecution made fresh disclosures to register a case against the actor and fabricate evidence against him after the investigating agency did not find any concrete evidence.

A frontline South Indian heroine complained that she was abducted and sexually assaulted by a gang of goons in 2017 and filmed some scenes to blackmail her. After arresting and interrogating the main accused Sunil, Dileep was accused of being the main conspirator of the case and was arrested.
According to the prosecution, Dileep, who was out on bail after spending two months in jail, had also witnessed the scenes of the attack on the actress.

Kavya Madhavan is Dileep’s second wife, from whom he divorced after his first wife married another frontline actress Manju Warrier, who has since returned to acting. After marriage, Kavya left the film industry.
